UPDATE: Ray "Charlie" Charles has had his double enucleation surgery and is adapting quite well!  He's learned to "map out" the room and then he's good to go!  He'll need a stable environment where furniture and items are moved on him as this does confuse him and creates some anxiety.  He has learned to climb as part of his mapping and loves to get to you wherever you are. He likes to talk with you to figure out where you are as well!  He loves to be held and carried in his pouch carrier.  He also loves to sit up on your shoulders and get extra attention!

Ray Charles came to us through an emergency veterinarian hosp in Philly.  They received him as a stray in need of medical care.  They gave him a thorough work up and once they had him stabilized, they reached out to us.  We couldn't pass this handsome sweetheart up! 

Ray Charles will be having a double enucleation surgery (both eyes removed) on Nov 30th and will be ready once he's healed up from surgery!

Ray Charles' sight impairment doesn't slow him down a bit.  He explores his space and has memorized the room he's in.  He carefully climbs and moves from shelf to shelf and up and down!  He LOVES to play with his toys and can easily find them by smell and touch.  He's also the sweetest of babies.  He purrs instantly and snuggles up! He also LOVES to be carried around in his pet pouch!  And he loves to sing!  His meows are sing song and beautifully sweet!

Ray Charles will need someone patient that is willing to be gentle and loving with him and understand and work with his vision impairment!
